DVSF offers more to our winners through these special collaborations
Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) is a public open-admission institution in Philadelphia dedicated to bringing the promise of higher education for all Philadelphians. Each year CCP supports scholarships and special awards at the Delaware Valley Science Fair. CCP also partners with DVSF on our Strategic Research Initiative program which is designed to provide STEM opportunities to underserved communities.
Drone Legends develops K–12 drone-based STEM education that helps students build real-world skills through hands-on learning, storytelling, and cutting-edge technology. Ready to teach curriculum for elementary STEM adventures to high school UAS (Uncrewed Aircraft Systems) workforce pathways like precision flight training and FAA Part 107 prep. Each year Drone Legends Founder, Scott Buell, leads a workshop to train a group of students to fly a drone. As part of the learning experience, the students assist in filming DVSF Fair Day in the Convention Center! That’s real hands-on experience!
WHYY’s Pathways to Media Careers provides training, mentorship, and opportunities that guide students from media training to professional opportunities turning creative passion into real careers. Each year WHYY selects a group of students from their Pathways to Media Careers Program to attend DVSF and film live interviews with students, judges and college fair representatives. The students take the footage and develop professional clips also incorporating the drone footage from Drone Legends. A real-life experience for the students!
