ISEF Forms and Guides
This page includes links to the competition forms and rules, as well as graphics and videos to guide students, educators and sponsors in completing the required documents accurately. Failure to follow these rules could result in disqualification or limitations on competing for awards.

These are the required forms for student research projects. All projects must complete forms 1, 1A, 1B, and 2A and submit them with a detailed research plan. More complex projects will require additional forms. See the ISEF Rules Wizard for assistance with necessary forms.
Student researchers and the adults sponsoring their projects should be familiar with the rules and guidelines in order to ensure safe and ethical experimentation.

This Guide blends the current rules, as well as other supporting documents that have been created over the years, and brings them all together in one updated and organized resource.
The Rules Wizard has been designed as a first step to help you determine what forms and approvals are necessary before beginning a science fair project.
