What is My Role?
Thank you for supporting students as they explore science research.

My Role as an Adult Sponsor
Students that would like to conduct research and participate in DVSF must have an Adult Sponsor that is willing to support their work and ensure that they adhere to all rules and regulations. This can be a teacher, parent, STEM professional or any other adult. More information about adult roles in student research can be found here.
The Adult Sponsor will also assist students in completing the required paperwork. This page will link you with the ISEF forms.
My Role as a School Science Fair Coordinator
If you would like to support multiple students and host a science fair for your school or district, you will need to contact the Regional Fair Director for your area. They will be able to guide you through the process so that your winners will be eligible to compete. Each of our regional fairs supports the districts in their geographical area, so you will compete in the fair in which your school is located. Competing in DVSF or ISEF

Many students are excited about science research and eager to compete in the Delaware Valley Science Fairs and the International Science and Engineering Fair. However, students must compete in their Local Regional Fair BEFORE they are eligible to advance to the Delaware Valley Science Fair.
High school students at each grade level (9-12) competing in individual categories must place in the top three in order to be elibigle for DVSF. High school teams is its own category and the top three teams are also eligible to move on to DVSF. Students in grades 6-8 compete in the Middle School level and must place first or second in their category, including teams, to advance.
The top three medalists from grades 9-12 represent DVSF at the International Science and Engineering Fair in May.
